Creativity, Passion for Precision and an Eye for Detail | After 12 years working at a local window parts manufacturing company, an injury forced Darrell to make a career change. What would he do? It had to be something where he could use his creativity, his passion for precision and his eye for detail. Something where he could set a high standard in every area and feel satisfied at the end of a day because he was proud of his work. After exploring many choices the idea of starting his own landscape maintenance business came to him as quite a surprise; yet it seemed like a perfect fit. That was over 15 years ago.
Today, Darrell Stewart, along with his wife Monica, have grown their company, A Cut Above, into one of the leading landscape maintenance companies in Bend, and is expanding the scope of service it offers by offering water features and hard scapes and curb appeal exterior design..

We are not happy with our work unless we can look at it and say “We did a great job here today.” We treat every project as if it were our own property where “okay” and “good enough” are not in our vocabulary. These are our core values and not just a sales pitch. This is how we work and how we live our lives. That’s just the right way to do business, even if it is old fashioned. We also believe we have the responsibility of passing these values on to the next generations through our sons and now our grandchildren.
